What
is iTravelSyndicate?
iTravelSyndicate
is an online marketplace for travel content, which includes
articles ranging from 200 to 6,000 words. Think of us as an
evolved syndicate — smarter, quicker, wittier and far more
useful than our predecessors. iTravelSyndicate allows editors
worldwide to search for the articles they need and purchase
those articles at prices far below what they would pay to
commission a freelance writer. Editors buy nonexclusive
reprint rights, which include digital reprint/archive rights.
However, editors may not resell articles for which they
purchased rights from iTravelSyndicate.
Why
iTravelSyndicate?
That’s
simple. iTravelSyndicate’s articles come from more than
4,000 travel writers worldwide, many of them
award-winning travel journalists. Only at iTravelSynidcate can
you purchase topnotch content at reasonable prices. For a
travel editor, the better question is: Why not
iTravelSyndicate?
Is
there a subscription fee?
Absolutely
not. Editors are verified by an iTravelSyndicate staffer
either by calling the company or referring to the company
masthead. Editors only pay for article they purchase.
How
do you make a purchase?
Editors
can purchase nonexclusive reprint rights online by paying for
the article with a credit card (MasterCard or VISA) or they
may send a check payable to Marco Polo Publications, Inc.
Editors are granted nonexclusive reprint rights only after
paying for the article. We do not allow billing after use.
How
often is content updated?
Daily.
Professional travel writers log on to iTravelSyndicate to post
their content for sale. In less than an hour from the time the
writer uploaded his/her article, an editor may purchase
nonexclusive reprint rights and, theoretically, publish the
article that evening.
Are
photographs available?
This
depends. If the article preview window indicates that photographs are
available, we can put you in touch with the writer
and/or photographer who holds these photographs. However,
iTravelSyndicate deals only with written content and offers no
guarantees on photographs. Additionally, the
writer/photographer may charge an additional fee for use of
the photographs. iTravelSyndicate does not receive any portion
of this fee, which is to be negotiated by the
writer/photographer and editor.
How
much money do the writers make?
Writers
earn 60% of the syndication price. For instance, if an editor pays $100 for
an article, the writer will receive $60.
